Tropical Storm Fay Hurricane Betting Odds Available
KEY LARGO, FL --
As Tropical Storm Fay begins to strengthen over Haiti, a few online casinos are announcing the odds of a possible hurricane that will impact the Florida coastline. As of 8:30AM eastern time, Tropical Storm Fay was emerging off the west-end of Haiti, with maximum wind-speed of 45MPH.
Last night, Fay roared through the Dominican Republic dropping heavy-rain while stirring up coastal waters with 40MPH winds. Damage was minimal, however strong rip-tides and harbor surges led to some damage in local marinas and port facilities.
Tropical Storm Fay is on her way to Cuba moving at speeds of around 14MPH. She is expected to arrive in Cuba sometime Sunday, then move towards the Florida Keys. Cuba is expected to receive a large number of flash-flood instances, as its 1950's infrastructure will be tested once again. Cuba's lack of flood-control mechanisms and poor storm-alert system allow tropical systems to wreak-havoc on the Communist nation this time of year.
Despite conflicting reports from leading weather bureaus, Floridians are encouraged to review their hurricane preparation manuals. It is quite likely the storm could strengthen and smash through the Florida Keys. Some are suggesting the storm will weaken and never get any stronger than it is, but the possibility of it becoming a hurricane is a real threat.
If you are the gambling type, you can even place a bet with an online casino as to whether or not Tropical Storm Fay will become a hurricane and hit the United States. Prop bets include will the storm become a hurricane, where will the storm make landfall, what category will it become, highest wind speed, etc.
