Can Neteller Beat the Odds?
ISLE OF MAN --
Neteller, the infamous online casino gambling payment processor whose business flourished until late 2006, is about to pull-off a financial miracle. The company, which acts as an intermediary funds transfer agent on behalf offshore betting sites and gamblers, is on its way to a full recovery since being banned in the United States by the UIGEA.
In a report over the weekend, the company has reported a 5% rise in quarterly earnings. The company had not posted an increase in profits in almost 2 years.
Some are saying the increase is merely the "dead-cat" effect, a metaphor used to describe companies who are hitting rock bottom.. In other words, if you drop a dead cat, it will bounce even a little bit.
Others are saying, the company has begun to strengthen its channels in the Europe and Asia market, along with several other emerging territories. The hard work and dedication in these regions is positioning Neteller as a force once again in the online casino industry.
Revenues during the first quarter of this year were 17 million US dollars, up 5% over the previous 3 months.
Recently, network security has become a concern for some clients banking with Neteller. According to reports, customers have lost thousands of dollars due to online fraud and criminal hacking within Neteller's computing infrastructure.
