NBA All-Star Props Lead Sunday Sports Gambling
PHOENIX, ARIZONA --
As the popularity of basketball has continued explosive growth worldwide, the betting on All-Star weekend has expanded apace. While the NBA players consider the game a shawcase event rather than competition, online casinos still offer a variety of interesting proposition bets.
National Basketball Association fans are invited to choose among props that include everything from plays that their favorite player scores the first basket to which of a coupled team of players scores more. Online gambling sites feature everything from the largest lead either team holds during the game to most assists by any one player.
Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire are considered equal as to which of the two scores first. The play, regardless of which of the two is selected, is -115, as house edges on props are almost always higher than a standard 10% vig on losers.
Kobe Bryant is a slight edge over Dwyane Wade to score first, -120 as opposed to -110. LeBron James is a heavy leader to score before Chris Paul, -175 to +135. But Kobe stays ahead of LeBron in this category, -120 to -110.
Some of the combination wagers are intriguing. Paul Pierce and Rashard Lewis are expected to outscore Dirk Nowitski and Pau Gasol by 2 1/2 points. LeBron is a 1/2 point, -130 favorite to outscore Kobe Bryant, +1/2, even. And international superstar Yao Ming is the choice, -130 to even, to get a rebound before Kevin Garnett.
