"Poker Face" Singer Lady Gaga's Sex Becomes Gambling Speculation
NEW YORK, NEW YORK --
Pop star Lady Gaga, set to appear at the MTV Video Music Awards tonight, has allowed rumors about her sexual anatomy to grow until online gambling sites have posted the issue as a betting matter. Reports of strange glimpses beneath her outfit at a concert in Glastonbury led to whispers that the entertainer is a hermaphrodite, possessing both male and female sexual organs.
Now, online casinos have made the subject a gambling matter. Some sites are offering patrons the chance to bet on whether Lady Gaga is strictly female or carrying extra luggage under her skimpy stage outfits.
The singer first came to notice with her single "Poker Face," and has since followed a Madonna-esque path to stardom, specializing in dance songs set to computerized tunes. And like the Material Girl, Lady Gaga seems to subscribe to the theory that there is no such thing as bad publicity.
The singer has mostly given elusive answers to questions about her sexuality, saying it makes no difference. But a press conference in Berlin saw a reporter press the subject, to which she calmly replied, "My beautiful vagina is offended.”
Lady Gaga may continue to drive the controversy, as she attempts to find a few extra minutes to extend her fifteen minutes of fame that usually accompany flash-in-the-pan pop talent, as the public moves on to the next fad. That could mean gamblers may wait a while to see if they can cash in on their bets on her genitalia.
