Holocaust Memorial Murderer Linked to Online Gambling
WASHINGTON, D.C. --
The man who murdered a security guard while shooting at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum has been found to have connections to online gambling. James von Brunn, the white supremacist who shocked the country with the attack in Washington, operated a website that advertised online casinos.
The site, which promotes racial separation and anti-Semitism, carried ads for Casino Tropez. The Internet casino offers a full gamut of casino gambling, and is powered by Playtech. Casino Tropez is not available to US customers.
Von Brunn was arrested after the attack on the museum, which killed guard Steven Johns and wounded two other witnesses.
Von Brunn's site has been removed from the Internet, although cached versions can still be found.
Authorities think it likely von Brunn acted alone, although the investigation is ongoing and expected to take some time. No connection of other persons to the website has been announced, and no comment has been released by Casino Tropez operators.
