Genting International Announces New UK Mega-Casino
ISLE OF MAN --
Well-known in the casino gaming industry, Genting International has announced plans to create a new, $176 million dollar casino resort destination in the United Kingdom (UK).
Genting's UK unit, Genting Stanley, will build the new facility, which will include a mega-casino, spa, boutique-style shops, and motel, at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
The deal is not expected to affect Genting's earnings for the financial year ending Dec 2008, the firm said. At this time, specific details are still being worked out as final plans have not been approved, but they are expected to make decisions in the near future.
The deal is not a slam-dunk, however. The proposed casino is subject to the granting of a gaming license by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Genting must get permission to operate a Large Casino within the Leisure and Entertainment Complex.
Most analysts do agree, however, that Genting should be able to get the needed license in a short amount of time.
