Powerball Jackpot Reaches $275 Million

The tension is mounting for citizens in 29-states across the US. Tonight's powerball jackpot has reached a whopping $275 million dollars, thats about 140 million pounds, for you Englanders out there.
The drawing takes place at 10:59pm tonight and is aired on local television across the regions. If you live in one of these states, you can purchase your tickets up till 10:00pm. Most convenience stores and grocery shops sell the tickets through electronic machines.
With taxes removed and early penalties subtracted, the winner could walk away with $135 million in pure cash. That's enough money to do just about anything in this world. Players across the country are already talking about what they are planning to do if they win.
"The first thing I'm gonna do is quit my job, then I'm gonna head on a vacation out to the islands", said Arthur Coppitt of Seneca, South Carolina.
The chances of winning Powerball is about 1 in 146 million, however, there are smaller prizes for those who obtain a portion of the numbers.
Powerball is an American lottery managed by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), a group of lottery commissions in 29 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. MUSL is licensed to operate the lotteries in these jurisdictions. The game has been around since 1992.
If a no one wins this weekend, the jackpot is rolled over till next week. At that point, we can surely expect a jackpot of over $300 million dollars.
