Miami Dolphins Gambling on Quincy Carter?
DAVIE, FL --
According to reports out of South Florida, the Miami Dolphins have been working-out Quincy Carter in their summer training facility amid next weeks opener against Tampa Bay.
Dolphins fans are bracing themselves as reports of Quincy Carter entering the QB race in training camp unfold. The Dolphins, a team that will probably struggle to win 3 games this season, will be taking a huge gamble if they decide to pursue Quincy Carter.
The development of the team's 3 signed quarterbacks has been so inconsistent the past week that Miami has resorted to working out Quincy Carter. Carter, who is currently an Arena Football League quarterback, played for Bill Parcells back in Dallas. He actually started for the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets before poor play and drug-related arrests ended his NFL career after the 2004 season.
Some analysts believe the Quincy Carter sightings are merely an attempt to jolt the other 3 quarterbacks.
"Stranger things have happened in professional sports, but I really don't expect Parcells to sign Carter", says Ray Thomas, a local journalist in the South Florida area.
"It really shows a lack of confidence in there other 3 quarterbacks", he added.
Carter, after his stint in Minor League baseball, was considered one of the best athletes in the NCAA at one time.
