Las Vegas Casino Robbed for Six-Figure Loss
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA --
Casino robbery seems to be a growing passion around the country. A string of robberies have plagued Montana casinos all year. Recently, attempts were made in other states, and Friday morning a Las Vegas casino was hit.
The Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino was subject to a heist Friday morning, as two robbers took bags of money from the sportsbook and fled, presumably with a third person as a getaway driver.
The robbers were wearing motorcycle helmets and drew handguns. They struck just before dawn, at 6 a.m.
Officials said the operation took less than a minute, and the thieves escaped with hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash.
Investigators have no leads. Perhaps questioning will start with how the personnel operating the omnipresent camera system carried by all Vegas casinos didn't find patrons walking through the casino wearing helmets to be suspicious.

one of two possible reasons personnel operating the camera's did not notice suspicious activities. 1st, no one was at the "controls" at 6 am. 2nd, casino personnel were in on the heist.
My opinion, throw out the corporations and bring back the mob to directly own the hotel/casinos. No one steals from most mobsters and live till the next day to talk about. |

These robbers didn't walk through the casino. The Hilton sports book cashier is right inside an entrance that, in turn, is only about 100 feet from a public street. Bet they change that fast.
I don't buy the six figures. There's no reason to have that much cash at a sports book at 6 a.m.
If it was there, either the staff is incredibly dumb or they were in on it (a la Robert DeNiro in Casino). |

HEY RON, the reason the cameras weren't spinning is because the robbery took less than a minute most of the cameras are in a fixed position untill the guys in the "EYE" hear something over the radio that sparks their interest,also the cameras and coverage are terrible at the Hilton. But i do believe it was A inside job
Vegas Vic, even on a slow day at the Hilton Sportsbook there was always a min. of about $200,000. For christ sake we had to stand at the counter while the brought the money bag behind the counter and counted the currency out in the open. It was an uneasy feeling.
oh by the way i was a security guard there for 7 years. thats why i know what i know. and yes alot of the staff are stupid. |
