Chicago Bulls Win NBA Draft Lottery
CHICAGO, IL --
Despite a miserable 2007/2008 NBA basketball season, Chicago Bulls fans once again have something to cheer about. Yesterday, the team defeated the Miami Heat in the annual NBA draft lottery to earn the #1 pick in the upcoming amateur draft.
The Chicago Bulls came up from the #9 seed in the lottery, to steal the victory from the Miami Heat, a team who had the worst record in the NBA by far. The Heat were favored to win the lottery, as they had the most number of balls in the system.
"Many times in the past, the #1 pick did not turn out to be the best player in the draft. We have to be smart with our selection, and take advantage of this lucky opportunity", said a sobering John Paxon, General Manager of the Bulls.
Most analysts agree the Bulls need a solid big-man in the lineup, but will have difficulty filling the position in the year's draft. The upcoming NBA basketball draft is June 26 in New York.
