WSOP Preview - 2008 World Series of Poker Starts May 30
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA --
The 39th edition of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is set to run from May 30th to July 16th, 2008 at the Rio® All-Suite Hotel and Casino. The tournament will be another exciting and unpredictable event featuring 55 bracelet events over 48 days to determine the world’s top player.
With the globalization of poker in full effect, 2008 will be the largest and most diverse player and media contingent yet to cover the tournament.
As such, the WSOP is making considerable improvements to ensure the time and expense is well worth it for the fans. The event promises an "enjoyable and fruitful experience to all who attend".
If you're a player and would like to compete in the 2008 World Series of Poker, registrations are still being accepted. You can find the necessary tournament forms and scheduling information at the WSOP registration page. Buy-in ranges from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the particular event. You must be at least 21 years old during competion, however, you can pre-register at 20 if your birthday is before the tournament starts.
