Poker Featured on Game Show Network
NASSAU, BAHAMAS --
In celebration of Father's Day, this Sunday the Game Show Network will feature both television and online promotions featuring Dad's favorite game: poker.
Eight hours of poker action will play on the network starting at 3 p.m.
First will be six hours of World Poker Tour highlights. Both parts of the most recent Bellagio Cup will be presented, including play by many famous professionals, such as Mike Matusow, Danny Wong, and Kevin Saul.
Next stop on the WPT would be the Foxwoods World Poker Finals. This tournament featured a number of young guns eager to inscribe their names with the legends, including Nenad Medic, Nick Schulman, and Mike White.
After the WPT shows have run, the Fifth Annual Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure will be shown. Hosted by Daniel Negreanu and A.J. Benza, this tournament held at the Atlantis Casino in the Bahamas marks the first major event of the year. Chris Moneymaker and David Pham will be among the participants.
The Game Show Network's online outlet, gsn.com, will host games of skill, with entry fees and a chance to take home thousands in winnings; unfortunately, due to imbecilic policies on the part of the U.S. government, those games will feature Scrabble, rather than poker.
This is because the government's stance is that Scrabble is a game of skill, while poker is a game of chance. Anyone who has played both games realizes poker incorporates as much skill, and Scrabble does contain an element of chance. All dads who wish to change this silly policy are urged to write their Congressman and Senators.
