Borgata Winter Poker Open Set for January 09'

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -- The Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City announced today they will offer a $2 million dollar prize-pool in their upcoming poker championships set to begin in January of 2009.  The Borgata Winter Poker Open is expected to once again draw huge crowds of fans, cheering alongside the best players in the world.

The poker championship will kick-off another season of professional poker across the United States.  The poker tournament is the largest East Coast tournament to start a season.

Players can register for the events online or in-person.  Online registration begins January 1st, while on-site registration starts on January 10th.

According to the casino, special room-rates apply to players competing in the event, although most agree the players will not be getting much sleep during the championship event.

New for 2009, Borgata will offer 46 distinctive events ranging from Deep Stack tournaments, Omaha High and Pot Limit tournaments to Ladies Limit, H.O.S.E. and Senior Events.
