Democrats Attack John McCain for Gambling

By Angela Bedford on October 9, 2008  Email it!    Print Version

Play Slots at Rushmore Casino! NEW HAMPSHIRE -- The liberal wing of the Democrat Party has decided to attack John McCain because he has a history of recreational gambling in Las Vegas casinos.  The left-wing radicals are doing anything they can to cast doubt about McCain, a US military veteran and 30-year public servant.

"Alot of people enjoy going to casinos and having fun, but if John McCain does it, then he must be a troubled person with psychological issues", says Joy Stellar, a long-time Republican strategist.

"In all seriousness, these liberals who make outlandish comments about McCain - they are the ones with mental problems", she chuckled.

Gambling in Las Vegas casinos is not against the law, therefore, McCain is not doing anything illegal when he plays cards at the casinos on occasion.  His behavior is rather modest actually, refusing to accept alcohol from the waitresses and sleeping with his wife in their suite.

In recent years, Barney Frank and the Democratic party have argued for legalization of internet gambling, an issue that John McCain seems to agree with.  If John McCain chooses to gamble with his own money, he should have the freedom to do so without a political party infringing upon his rights.

Geeze, talk about a lack of journalistic integrity. This article reports zero facts. No one cares if John McCain gambles, heck, more power to him if he does. However, for normal Americans who gamble with more than $200,000 per year it is the law to report those winnings/losses on their taxes. Those who fail to report such large transactions on their tax forms would be breaking the law and thus be fined or possibly sent to jail. Let me apologize for my fellow Democrats for holding the potential president to such average standards - that he should probably... not break the law???

Here's another angle the Democrats should take but aren't, which also isn't represented in this article... John McCain can afford to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars a year gambling! That doesn't really connect with the average American, imho.
